A day filled with food, music, and fireworks!
Smoking barbecues and finger-licking fun all wrapped up in gingham print come together for Southern Oregon’s mega-American birthday party – The Great Umpqua’s July 4 Food Truck Competition held in Roseburg at the Douglas County Fairgrounds – offering the perfect package of small-town charm and a big appetite for adventure. The event will be the third annual this year and brings in more than 20,000 people and 30-plus food trucks from all over parts of Oregon, as well as Washington, Idaho and California. Truck winners bring home $10,000 for first place, $5,000 for second, and $2,500 for third. There is also a best local truck prize for $1,000.
The event kicks off at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 with a special VIP entrance hour. General admission starts at 3 p.m. and is free. Games and activities for the kids are also available while adults can refresh their palates with the local beer and wine selection. At 6:30 p.m., the Battle of the Bands competition commences giving six bands the chance to also snag some cash prizes by an audience clap-o-meter rating. The party ends with a bang around 10 p.m. with the Roseburg Hometown Fireworks.
